Description
Fiat G.55 Centauro
One of the best fighters produced by the Italian Air Force during the Second World War, was the Fiat G.55 Centauro. The new aircraft during the evaluation trials held in 1942, gave immediate proof of his qualities and proved superior to competing projects (the Macchi 205 and RE 2005). The Centauro was introduced into service in 1943, but was made in a few tens of specimens. These aircraft, however, gave very good test in the comparison with the allies fighters.
