The design bureau has been a kind of Soviet «skunkwork» and is responsible for many legendary airplanes. MIG 17s. developed in the early 1950s. proved worthy opponents of more sophisticated US fighters in Vietnam. And recent Soviet achievements in space verify their considerable theoretical skills. More conventional than the F-19, the Ferret fulfills all criteria of STEALTH design. The MIG-37B «Ferret-E» is powered by dual, non-afterburning Tumansky turbojets.
