The Humvee (an acronym of High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) project was born at the end of the 70s when the United States Army issued a call for tenders for a new tactical and reconnaissance vehicle with all-terrain capacity and durable frame. Perceived as the natural evolution of the Jeep, the Humvee gradually became the standard reconnaissance vehicle of the U.S. Military. The Humvee features an imposing size and four-wheel drive that make it easy to drive it cross-country on any kind of terrain and in any weather.the vehicle, later known as the Hummer, is also widely used by many departments of firefighters in the United States.
